What is the best source of information on rare plants and animals?
This information can be obtained from the Wyoming Natural Diversity Database (WYNDD), located in the Berry Biodiversity Conservation Center at the University of Wyoming. The scientists at WYNDD monitor the status of all known rare or threatened species, even if they are not protected by the Endangered Species Act. Other states have similar programs.
For a list of Wyoming species protected by the Endangered Species Act, go to the website of the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Comparable websites exist for every state.
